He Was Still a Young Man

On January 17, 2016 we lost an amazing musician and a great person, Mic Gillette. Mic was a founding member of the group “Tower of Power” and played some of the most iconic trumpet solos in music, “You’re Still a Young Man” – (TOP-Bump City 1972), “Sparkling in the Sand” (TOP-East Bay Grease 1970) and more. Mic also played Trombone, Baritone and Tuba and was an advocate for school music programs. His discography, touring and live performance credits reads like a who’s who in the music industry, he will be sorely missed. Heartfelt condolences to Julia, Megan and to all of Mic’s family and friends.

It’s an amazing gift to have performed with Mic, a honor to have known him.
